What is the best thing to clean jewelry with?
Written by Jewelry on February 10, 2010I have a ring that has changed colors. It used to be white gold, but now it is turning black in spots. I haven’t worn it in a long time. It been in the jewelry box and when I went to get it out to wear it I noticed the color change. What can I use?

I would try warm water with dish washing liquid first. If that doesn’t help, maybe a commercial gold cleaner, available from jewelry stores and if that doesn’t help, the ring might need a new rhodium plating (a lot of white gold items are rhodium plated for the bright white shine).
