What are some good places to get good quality jewelry for every day?
Written by Jewelry on January 2, 2010I’m in college, and I have loads of jewelry. One problem — I don’t like to take a lot of it to school since I spend so much time in labs with chemicals and things going wrong, and I’m certainly not wearing it anywhere near a college party. Most of what I own is all real, and excellent quality from my mom…Like emeralds, diamonds, pearls.
Basically, I need more "everyday" kind of stuff. I hate it when it eels cheap though.

I find that clothing store jewelery can often look quite nice, and most look of good quality without that cheap look.
Otherwise, I’d suggest going to Etsy.com, which is a place where people sell handmade items. I’ve gotten some really gorgeous pieces, even some that could be paid with pocket change.

How about some beaded semi-precious gemstone necklaces? Semi precious gemstones are natural stones, so they won’t feel cheap, and more budget friendly than precious gemstones like diamonds etc. that you already own.
They come in all colors. I have a 3 straight up beaded necklaces: onyx (black), amethyst (purple) & blue goldstone (navy). They’re easy to match with outfits and sometimes I’ll layer and wear all three together to make make my own ’statement’ necklace
I recently found this site that allows you to design your own necklace. You pick the beads and they make it for you. They have a pretty good range of stones, so should give you an idea of which onbes you might be interested in. http://gemkitty.com
Etsy is pretty cool resource too.
Def. smart to keep your precious metals and stones away from lab chemicals!
Hope this helps!
