St. Petersburg Stitch, Part II – Jewelry Design

Written by Jewelry on March 16, 2010

After most requests, we sat down as well as schooled the St. Petersburg stitch! It does need your patience, though we will be rewarded with the pleasing stitched v-shaped necklace. It is the square which we can put down as well as collect behind up as well as work in stages! So stick on me as we denote this legendary stitch!

My download keeps stopping at 5:41 of the 10 minutes and I’m going crazy. I was able to do part 1 and part 3 is downloading now. AARRKKKK.
Other than that this is a great video and I like all of the ones you do ~:)

This portion of the necklace can be quite awkward. A much easier way can be achieved by simply turning the upper sides to the bottom and working the lower side as though it were the upper side. This makes all your stitching at the exact angles as the upper side. This is much easier than trying to work backwards. Thanks Karla for another great project!

If we had been taught to make things like this in art, a lot more people would have a better appreciation for the craft.

I think that it’s pretty with out the lower sides, but it’s equally as pretty with the lower sides. BTW, wouldn’t she be a great art teacher?
