Is there a way to clean silver jewelry with household products?

I live overseas and can’t find silver/jewelry cleaner…is there something around the house you can use instead? Thanks.

Place silver jewellery in a small saucepan (an aluminium one if you have one – try an op shop) – add boiling water and small pieces of aluminium foil and a deaaser spoon of salt.

Boil for about 15 minutes – don’t let it boil dry -add more water if necessary.

The chemical reaction between the aluminium and salt will re-oxidize the black tarnish back to silver.

Amonia mixed with 4ozs of warm water works well. Wipe clean with soft cloth. good luck.
