Like Ciel from Kuroshitsuji’s family crest ring right? If you draw an image onto the board it’d work the same. There’d just be an image there.

The hotglue works well. (I don’t use superglues because those have a tendency to eat the foil.)

have you ever thought of using Super77 instead of hot glue?

@peionastick yeah…just don’t add any dye…also, in order to get a hole through it, use a power drill with a small bit very carefully

So what if I wanted it clear like no color? Do I just not add no dye too it? And also how would I make a hole in it, if I wanted yo make a necklace.

No, I’ve never tried adding acrylic paint. I find that I can sometimes color resin stones by adding an enamel glaze (or some metal flake paint) to the outside of the gem.

if you want the image to be clearer, I would place it on the back of the resin while it’s still wet/soft.

Lets say I want to do clear gems with an image behind it. Would I put the resin in the mold and rest the image on the back or would i glue it to the back of the finished resin like you did with the shiny paper?

I’ve had problems with silicone molds—polyester resin won’t set in them and clear epoxy resin jewels cast with silicone have this non-shiny surface that I can’t coat with sealant. (It just beads up.) If anyone knows how to get around that, I would be grateful.

No. You have to make them. (I use styrene plastic sheets which I line with mailing tape to make a smooth surface. ) The hardest part is cutting and fitting the plastic pieces together so they make a “bowl” shape into which you can pour the resin. (And pray it doesn’t leak.)
