I use 18 gauge sterling silver. If you use Nickel Silver or some other metal, I recommend 20 gauge. 18 gauge in Nickel Sliver is hard to bend. Also if you use .035 sterling, make sure you purchase round/soft wire. It also comes in “Hard” which is almost impossible to use for the Egyptian Link,
